Construct Allied Support for F-22 Weather Shelters, 1 FW, Facility 6020

Design and construction of ten (10) new aircraft weather shelters.
This project consists of designing and constructing (10) additional shelters, with the new rows located to the east of the eastern end of the two northern rows of existing fabric shelters.
The new shelters shall match the existing shelters in size and appearance. The shelters shall have a lightning protection system installed, including a grounding-electrode system that is required to be installed underground around the perimeter of the ten (10) new shelter structures.
The width between the beams on each shelter shall be 70 feet apart from the bottom of the
beam to the roof. Two-inch yellow reflective tape shall be placed on entrance and exit columns starting at the baseplate, then every two feet above until 8 feet is reached.
Structural steel in the design and execution of the ten (10) weather shelters and low profile barriers with proper lighting.
To tie in to the existing two (2) shelters, an expansion joint on the roof of the new shelters shall connect to the old shelters and the structure shall be free standing. A second set of offset columns may support the expansion, thought the existing foundations may not be modified. The end cap on the second row of shelters is to be removed when new shelters are tied in.
The existing concrete to be removed will have a thickness of 14.’’
The entirety of the ten (10) shelters shall be painted.
The new ten (10) shelters shall have downspouts and gutters directed to drainage holes on the runway.
The contractor shall install LED lighting systems at all locations, including installing two (2) red LED lighting systems on the previous nine (9) shelters and two (2) red LED lighting systems on the new ten (10) shelters.
