The facility is a Supercomputing Research Center at Engineering Research and Development Center 9ERD), in Vicksburg, MS. The facility is a 14,425 SF single-story structure with cold-formed metal stud exterior wall back-up with brick veneer and stucco. The building structure consists of load-bearing steel column and beam system with a standing seam metal roofing. Construction activities required earthwork, clearing and grubbing, concrete, rough carpentry, steel doors and frames, hardware, plastic-laminate-clad architectural cabinets, aluminum-framed curtain wall, storefronts, and entrances, gypsum wallboard, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, carpeting, painting, interior and exterior signage, toilet accessories, FF&E, window blinds, and air barriers. Other features of work were lightning protection, wet pipe fire protection system, plumbing, fire alarm and mass notification system, HVAC system, total building commissioning, DDC, electrical system, and building information system. Supporting facilities included water distribution system, sanitary sewer system, storm drainage system, underground electrical distribution system, landscaping, and other site improvements.
